Oh my gosh, Mase Manning is so swoony!
Reese has gone through a lot in life, and
all of them are horrible. She has always been told that she was stupid and
useless, and she actually believed it. How could she not when she can’t even
read and write properly, and she didn’t graduate high school.
Her stepfather is fucking gross and evil,
and her mother is the same. She finally leaves that toxic environment because
of an unfortunate event.
Fast forward to the present; Mase is
awakened by someone who is singing. He finds Reese and that’s when their love
story begins.
Mase was so understanding, sweet, and
protective. Oh, I forgot to mention hot. He was so patient with Reese, and he
genuinely wanted to help her with everything. I loved how he didn’t even try to
deny what he felt for Reese. He was waiting for her, but he made his intentions
clear when he needed to.
As usual, Nan was an evil bitch. I have no
idea how she’s going to redeem herself in her book. I HATE HER. She might have
reasons for being the way she is, but they’re not enough to justify the things
she’s said and done to other people.
Moving on, When I’m Gone is an emotional
and heartwarming read that I thoroughly enjoyed. And yes, I would love to marry
Mase.
