Review: Rising Fang by Anfal Khaliq

SYNOPSIS

Fourteen-year-old Ellie Paige dealt with monsters like most high school losers: she pretended they didn't exist—from the prettier, slimmer girls who wrote nasty things about her on the bathroom walls to the boys who taped dirty drawings to her locker door.

But some monsters couldn't be ignored, and there are worse things in the world than high school; a lesson Ellie learnt when she was savaged one night by a terrifying creature in the woods behind the school, turning her into a creature she had feared all her life ...

Now, a sinister transformation had begun in Ellie, and dark dreams were calling her into the mountains west of town, where her life as she had always known it would almost certainly come to an end, her fate forever changed by the light of a full moon ...

REVIEW

I read this book with my sister. She bought hers on Amazon and I received this book from the author.

The first chapter is very fast-paced. I cannot give a detailed review because I don't want to give anything away.

Ellie gets turned into a werewolf by a werewolf who had no choice but to turn her in order to save her life. Ellie gets turned into a werewolf on the prologue, so this isn't really a spoiler. It's peculiar how Ellie wasn't the least bit weirded out that she was now a werewolf. She acted so chill about it. Other than that, the book was highly entertaining.

Ellie has two best friends in school: Kate and Jack. They are very different from each other, but they fit.

After a long night that changed Ellie's life, she goes to school and meets a new student named Connor.Ellie immediately notices that there's something unusual about Connor. Her first words to him were "You smell like me.", that had me laughing out loud.

This story is for those who are looking for an easy and adventurous read. It is well-written and the illustrations in the book were beautiful! Thank you Anfal Khaliq for this book!

My Rating: 4 stars
